Recent form

Bayern have made a perfect start to the new campaign, winning each of their first four games in all competitions and thrashed Hamburg 5-0 on Saturday.

Chelsea, meanwhile, drew 2-2 with Brentford in their most recent outing, meaning they have drawn two and won two of their first four games.

What’s been said?

Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany on Nicolas Jackson potentially facing his parent club: “It’ll certainly be a special game for him, there’s no doubt about that,” the Bayern boss said.

“My wish is that he scores a lot of goals for us. I think he’ll achieve that. But he doesn’t have the pressure from me. Our team is a good team, a good group. He has to be a part of it and he can help us a lot.”

Blues boss Enzo Maresca: “You know already since last season that I always like to go game by game. You cannot think about the final or semi-final if you are not able to win games in the group stage. It’s the first thing tomorrow. We have the first one against a fantastic team that is probably one of the three, four or five favourites in this competition. We are going to try to do our job in the best way.”
