Manchester City travel to Norway to face Bodo/Glimt in the penultimate round of the first phase of the Champions League this evening.

Pep Guardiola’s side currently sit fourth in the standings. A victory in the Arctic Circle would help to realise their ambition of a top-eight finish and automatic qualification for the last 16.

Recent form

Bodo have not been in league action since the Norwegian Eliteserien concluded back in November. Although they have played two friendlies in 2026, their last competitive match took place over a month ago. It was a 2-2 draw away against Borussia Dortmund.

Although they are yet to win in the Champions League, the Norwegian outfit have proven to be a tricky opponent, drawing half of their games. The last English visitors to the Aspmyra Stadion were Tottenham Hotspur, who were held to a 2-2 draw.

City have not started 2026 in the form that they would have been hoping for. Guardiola’s side have failed to win in their first four Premier League games in the new year. Despite this, the Blues have produced some strong performances in cup competitions. Following a disappointing defeat in the Manchester derby last weekend, City will look to return to winning ways in Norway.

What’s been said?

Guardiola on playing on Bodo’s plastic pitch: “It is different. It is why we train the night before in the stadium when we never train in the stadium the night before, but we need to see how the ball bounces… If I start to cry for that situation, then we wouldn’t achieve what happens in the past.”
