Pep Guardiola facing tough test in the Arctic Circle
Pep Guardiola is facing challenging conditions ahead of his penultimate league phase match, notwithstanding the travel and frosty climate.
He will be without a wealth of first-team players in the Arctic Circle, with Matheus Nunes, Ruben Dias, John Stones, and Josko Gvardiol all absent from his back-line.
Elsewhere, Nico Gonzalez and Mateo Kovacic also remain absent.
To make matters worse, January signings Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi cannot feature in the Champions League until the knockout rounds.
It is not all bad news, though. Guardiola confirmed ahead of the match that Phil Foden would be available for selection despite breaking his hand in Saturday’s Manchester derby, and Omar Marmoush has travelled after returning from AFCON.
A win against Bodo will all but confirm a top-eight finish in the league phase for City, which would spare them a two-legged knock-out play-off.
This, perhaps unsurprisingly, will be City’s first meeting with Bodo/Glimt, and they will expect it to end in victory.
The Norwegian outfit finished their league season in second place but have not been able to replicate that form on the continent. They are yet to win in the Champions League this season.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on TNT Sports. Coverage starts at 5pm GMT on TNT Sports 2 ahead of kick-off at 5.45pm.
Live stream: TNT Sports subscribers can also catch the contest live online via the Discovery+ app and website.
