England face Jamaica in their final match before they head off to Switzerland for Euro 2025 as the Lionesses continue their preparations for the tournament.

Sarina Wiegman’s side are the current title holders, having come out victorious on home soil in 2022, and are looking to win it for the second time. They take on the Reggae Girlz for the first time ever at the King Power Stadium in Leicester.

Recent form

England head into Euro 2025 in mixed form. They scored 11 goals at home against Portugal and Belgium respectively, whilst also defeating Spain 1-0 at Wembley. However, they lost to Spain and Belgium and were held to a draw by Portugal in the reverse fixtures.

Jamaica have had a poor run of form in their previous three international matches, losing all three. Two consecutive defeats in April against Mexico, conceding seven without reply, before a 4-0 loss to the USA at the start of June.

Sarina Wiegman gave an update on her side’s preparations, and the excitement within the squad ahead of the tournament:

“The squad is in good shape. We’ve had two weeks to train, that was really nice. Tomorrow is our last moment in England to show that we’re ready and how ready we are. We’re really excited to play the last game before we go into the tournament. You just want to get good connections out of the team and show the level we have at the moment.”

Jamaica manager Hubert Busby Jr on increasing the player pool and competition in the side:

“Let’s continue to increase the pool and make it more competitive. We’ve talked about wanting to be one of the top three teams in Concacaf and you only do that by increasing the player pool and making competition for places in each and every camp. I’m glad that we have been able to see some new players emerge in these last few games against some really tough opposition.”
