Reds embark on new chapter under Andoni Iraola

Liverpool continue their pre-season tour of the United States as they take on Wrexham today.

The Reds play at the famous Yankee Stadium in The Bronx neighbourhood of New York City, New York, where they face their Championship opponents.

Andoni Iraola has come in to replaced the departed Arne Slot, who was sacked earlier this summer, and the Merseyside club embark on a new chapter.

The Spaniard has had to be patient for any new signings, with only Victor Munoz through the door to date.

There are still holes in the Liverpool squad, with a gaping vacancy left by Mohamed Salah, who departed after the expiry of his contract in June.

They are reported to be targeting Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola as their primary target, having missed out on RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, who is believed to be off to Real Madrid.

They beat Sunderland 4-2 in their first match in the US, as Iraola took the reins for the first proper time, while Wrexham come into this off the back of two scalps against top-flight opposition.

Phil Parkinson’s side defeated Manchester United 1-0 in Helsinki, Finland before an entertaining 3-2 victory against Leeds United in Tampa, Florida.
