Charity match returns for its 20th anniversary

Soccer Aid is back for its 20th anniversary since its 2006 inception, with England taking on the World XI at the London Stadium today.

Celebrities and former professional footballers - male and female - will face off in a fun-filled encounter all in the name of Unicef, who the match raises vital funds for.

Founded by pop star Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wilkes, this is the 15th event, with Soccer Aid moving from biennial to an annual spectacle.

Many of the recognised names tied to this game are involved once more, with former Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt now among the coaching staff, with Harry Redknapp and David Seaman the two professionals on the sideline.

YouTubers Behzinga and Angry Ginge are given the call-up, while Olly Murs endured a gruelling bike ride to raise more money for Unicef and celebrate Soccer Aid’s anniversary in the lead-up to the match.

Joe Marler will don the goalkeeper gloves as one of the celebrity shot-stoppers, while Leanardo Bonucci, Jordi Alba and Edwin van der Sar are among the former pros for World XI.

TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live for free on ITV1, with coverage starting at 5.30pm.
