Spain are dealing with a double injury blow, after both Nico Williams and Yeremy Pino were sidelined following the match against Uruguay, the latter with a suspected fractured collarbone.

Spain are yet to concede a goal in their World Cup campaign, even though they began with an underwhelming 0-0 draw with minnows Cape Verde. De la Fuente’s team followed it up with a more convincing 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia and 1-0 win over Uruguay to close out their group with seven points.
Austria began their tournament in North America with a 3-1 win over Jordan before a 2-0 loss to Argentina in their second game. Scoring an added-time equaliser against Algeria was enough to beat their opponents to second place in the group.
De la Fuente acknowledged that his side are the favourites to win the tie and said: “We’re continuing to grow under pressure; I love that high expectations are placed on us. Now it’s up to us to live up to those expectations – because obviously there’s no margin for error now; we have to win the next match.”
Austrian coach Rangnick: “We’re massive underdogs. We couldn’t be more of an underdog than we are in this game. We’ll need everyone to be at their very best. We have to be outstanding tactically and physically.
“We’ve got nothing to lose and a great deal to gain. I see it as a duty to give absolutely everything,” he added.
