Tottenham are in poor form, and have won only game from their last six. It was their last match, against Frank’s former side Brentford. But a win against Prague will make automatic qualification a lot more of a realistic proposition for them.
Slavia Prague are in excellent domestic form. They have won six of their last eight games and their only loss in that period was against Arsenal. But they were well beaten 3-0 by the Gunners and the Champions League looks a step too far for them this season.
Thomas Frank: “We have a good opportunity against a good Slavia Prague team that I’ve studied a lot, and they make it difficult. They play a very direct, physical style. They have more or less man-to-man over the pitch, so that just makes it different. You can’t relax at one stage of the game. When you’re a little bit further up the pitch, you also have man-to-man over the pitch, so you’re not as used to that bit.”
Slavia Prague boss Jindřich Trpišovský on Spurs: “You can see a big transformation after the change of coach. Last season it was a forward game with more freedom, but they were more vulnerable at the back. Now there is more order, fewer windows, quick counter-attacks. They have improved the movement tremendously. But of course, it takes a while to change style, so we want to take advantage of certain moments when they behave differently defensively.”
