The Birmingham City owner has reacted on Instagram following his team's 1-1 draw against Charlton Athletic at St Andrew's on Saturday.
Birmingham City owner Tom Wagner has reacted on Instagram after his team was held to a 1-1 draw by Charlton Athletic at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park on Saturday afternoon.
It was a frustrating afternoon at St Andrew's for Birmingham City, whose push for a Championship promotion place was dented by being held to a 1-1 draw at home to a struggling Charlton Athletic side.
The Blues took a first-half lead through captain Christoph Klarer and hit the woodwork twice through Demarai Gray, but failed to build on their advantage and were pegged back by a goal scored midway through the second half by Charlton substitute Tyreece Campbell, who'd only been on the pitch for a couple of minutes when he scored.
The result ended a dismal run of results for Charlton, who'd slipped from 6th in the table to 17th off the back of a run of five consecutive defeats. Birmingham ended the day in 12th place in the Championship table, five points short of a play-off place.

Posting to Instagram after the match, the Birmingham City owner Tom Wagner expressed his frustration at the Charlton result, saying, "Always together stronger. Always. KRO."
The curt reaction to the result, which was accompanied by a picture of captain and goalscorer Christoph Klarer, reflected the frustration which will have been felt by many Birmingham fans at the end of a match which they will have felt they should have won.
This frustration was also reflected in the screenshot accompanying the image from the official Birmingham City account, which was accompanied by the caption, "We're forced to settle for a point."

Frustration may well be growing at St Andrew's, with Saturday's result leaving the Blues halfway down the table. Birmingham City have now won just one of their last five games, and had lost their previous two matches prior to the Charlton match, to Southampton and Queens Park Rangers.
With plans for a new stadium progressing, Birmingham are an ambitious club, but their progress this season has been hampered by a lack of consistency on the pitch. They haven't managed to go more than three games unbeaten so far this season, and their recent poor run has pushed them back down the Championship table after getting themselves within touching distance of a play-off place.
The frustration will be felt all the more because the Championship has felt like such an open division this season. Hull City and Stoke City, who both struggled last season, are pushing for a play-off place, and Wagner may feel that a club with Birmingham's resources should be able to challenge nearer the top of the table, even though they were only promoted from League One at the end of the 2024-25 season.
This all amounts to the possibility of pressure mounting on the Birmingham City manager Chris Davies. Tom Wagner has already backed Davies this season, but with results remaining inconsistent that pressure may well start to build again should Birmingham not be able to put together a more consistent run of results and start to push back up the Championship table.
Wagner's frustrated reaction to the Charlton result will have reflected broader frustrations at a stop-start season so far. The worry for Chris Davies will be what his reaction might be should results not start to improve again soon.
