Blues continued their recent unbeaten streak with a hard-fought win over the Foxes
Birmingham City owner Tom Wagner only needed three words to sum up his feelings after the club's latest victory in the Championship, which came over a struggling Leicester City side at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park on Saturday afternoon.
It has been a largely impressive 2026 for Blues thus far, with the aforementioned Wagner continuing to back Chris Davies in the transfer market, whilst his side have put together a strong run of results to keep pace with several other sides hoping to make it into the Championship play-off places at the end of the regular season.
After picking up a second successive away victory for the first time this season against Oxford United last weekend, Birmingham were eventually able to see off the Foxes in B9 through goals from Ibrahim Osman and Jay Stansfield, which came either side of Abdul Fatawu's stunning equaliser midway through the first period.
Many Bluenoses had viewed this encounter with the East Midlands side as a tricky fixture for their side to negotiate, given Leicester's well-documented troubles after being relegated from the Premier League for the second time in three years.
Indeed, the Foxes had already lost two matches on the spin beforehand, with former midfielder, Andy King, replacing the recently dismissed Marti Cifuentes between those aforementioned fixtures, before they were eventually hit with a six-point deduction as a result of financial breaches, which, initially put them level on points with Blackburn Rovers and West Bromwich Albion, who started the weekend inside the relegation zone on goal difference.
However, Birmingham were able to continue building upon their recent positivity, which Wagner only backed up on his social media platforms after the full-time whistle.

The aforementioned context in the lead-up to Birmingham's 31st league match of the season also gave them a perfect opportunity to avenge the frustrating 2-0 defeat to the Foxes on August 29th, which has been one of very few bright sparks for those in the East Midlands so far this season.
The signs were promising when Osman - who has impressed heavily since joining on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion last month - was able to steal possession away from experienced Leicester defender, Ricardo Pereira, before slotting coolly past Asmir Begovic after he raced towards the Bosnian's goal.
Fatawu then levelled the scores with a powerful first-time effort after 21 minutes after Paik Seung-ho could only clear the ball into the path of the Ghanaian winger, who netted his second of the season against Blues in the process.
The aforementioned Osman was then at the forefront of even more action as Bobby De-Cordova Reid was dismissed 11 minutes later for a dangerous tackle on the highly-rated winger.
After dominating much of the possession and shot count, Davies' side eventually made their pressure count 23 minutes from time as Stansfield latched onto Marvin Ducksch's through ball to slot the ball across Begovic in front of the Tilton, for what was his first goal since netting a brace against Norwich City on November 22nd, taking his overall tally to 10 for the season.
A seventh game unbeaten in all competitions has seen Birmingham close the gap on the play-offs to two points, with Wagner stating on his Instagram story post-match: "Job well done @BCFC," echoing the professional performance from his side.

After an inconsistent first half of the season, Blues are certainly starting to gather momentum and showcase why they were tipped for a play-off finish by many at the beginning of the campaign.
The 2-1 success over Leicester was a positive start to a crucial, yet exciting, three-game week for Davies and his players, who can move into the top six on Tuesday night if they achieve another three-point haul against West Brom in a rescheduled fixture due to both local rivals' upcoming FA Cup fourth round ties, in which Birmingham will be in the spotlight once more as they take on Leeds United at 12PM on Sunday, February 15th in a televised encounter.
