How Wolves could be relegated this weekend

Article image:How Wolves could be relegated this weekend

Wolves could be relegated this weekend after their 4-0 defeat at West Ham. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the permutations hinge on their trip to Leeds and results elsewhere.

They visit Elland Road for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday. If they lose, they would no longer be able to catch Nottingham Forest or Leeds, and relegation could be confirmed later that day.

Tottenham host Brighton at 5.30pm on Saturday. A Spurs win would take them to 33 points, 16 clear of Wolves with 15 left to play, which would seal the drop if Wolves have lost.

If Spurs do not win and Wolves have been beaten, the maths could still be settled on Monday when West Ham travel to Crystal Palace. The Hammers would need only a point at Selhurst Park to reach 33 and confirm relegation.

Should Wolves draw at Leeds, moving to 18 points, they would still go down this weekend if West Ham win on Monday.

A victory at Elland Road would prevent official relegation this weekend. That would put Wolves on 20 points, leaving them 15 adrift with five matches remaining.
