HSV boss confirms interest in Leeds defender Bornauw and Nigerian striker Moffi | OneFootball

Hamburger SV continued their search for a defensive leader and one more striker with two more profiles linked with the club on Wednesday. Hamburger Abendblatt report that HSV are currently working on signing Leeds United’s Sebastian Bornauw and OGC Nice's Terem Moffi.

"We are familiar with both players. They are on the list of players we are looking at. It's not as if the deals are imminent, however." HSV sporting director Claus Costa confirmed the news as they continue building the squad for the upcoming season.

Köln were previously linked with Bornauw's return to the club, but the Belgian could now replace Luka Vuskovic at Hamburg. The 27-year-old is out of Daniel Farke's plans for the new season, according to Hamburger Abendblatt.

Meanwhile, Moffi's signing is planned to further bolster the attacking line after the arrival of Zambian international Patson Daka. The Nigerian will be a free agent next summer if he stays with Nice after returning from an underwhelming Porto loan. HSV's coach Merlin Polzin was quoted saying “something will definitely happen" when he was asked yesterday about signing a striker.
