HSV confirm Baldé exit | OneFootball

Hamburger SV have confirmed the departure of 21-year-old winger Fabio Baldé.

The HSV academy graduate is joining French top-flight side Racing Strasbourg on a permanent basis.

“Fabio’s journey from our youth academy into international football is a fantastic story for everyone involved, and hopefully it is only the beginning of what can be achieved over the coming years,” said HSV board member for sport Kathleen Krüger.

“As I already emphasised at my introductory press conference, the work we do at our academy is fundamental. We need to continually develop our young players so that we can see homegrown talents who identify with the club playing at the Volkspark, strengthen them, or, in cases of departures like Fabio’s, generate significant transfer fees.”

Baldé made 41 appearances for HSV, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
