Fábio Vieira says a return to Porto remains his career dream, the Hamburg midfielder reaffirming his attachment to the club.
"It's the club I will always love. Porto is my club. I'm always open to a return to Porto.” he told DAZN.
He joined Porto at the age of eight, left for Arsenal in 2022 for €35 million, then rejoined his boyhood club last season. He returned to the Premier League side after the Club World Cup as the clubs could not reach a full agreement on a permanent transfer.
HSV signed him on an initial loan in the summer. Hamburg have an option to make the 25-year-old’s move permanent, but the proposed €20 million fee will be financially difficult for the newly promoted Bundesliga club.
Vieira has continued his fine form in the Bundesliga, helping Michael Polzin’s side salvage a draw against FC Bayern Munich.
The Liga Portugal leaders added Seko Fofana to their midfield on deadline day, and their unbeaten league run ended on Monday with defeat to Casa Pia.
