Huddersfield Town and Aston Villa have agreed to bring Zepiqueno Redmond's loan at the Accu Stadium, after he joined the West Yorkshire outfit in the summer transfer window.

It's been a tough few months for the Dutchman, with his game time extremely limited with the Terriers as injury struggles headlined his time in League One.

The 19-year-old has not featured in the league for Lee Grant's side since a 0-0 draw at home to Burton Albion in September, a week after he scored his one and only goal for the club in a 3-1 away defeat at Bradford City.

Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly interested in the teenager, but for one Huddersfield supporter, the decision to cut the deal short is a good one, as they look to close the gap to the top two in the third tier in the coming weeks and months.

Huddersfield Town given the seal of approval after Zepiqueno Redmond decision

Redmond only moved to England in July, as he left Feyenoord at the end of his contract and he made his way to Aston Villa as part of their U21 setup. However, he was quickly sent out on loan to the Terriers, and while life in blue-and-white did start off relatively bright, supporters never truly got to see the striker at the peak of his powers.

When asked if the club had made the right decision, Football League World's Huddersfield Fan Pundit, Graeme Rayner, said: "I think it's the right call just because he hasn't had any game time. I think he's played maybe three games since he came to the club due to injury. So, I suspect that it's just been a case of let's cut ties really from both sides.

"It's just not worked out. So, I think he played twice in the league and once in the League Cup. He did score away at Bradford, but that was an awful game. But he's just had injury problems, and I think it's probably best for everyone if he just goes back to Villa and then maybe finds somewhere else to go."

Graeme continued: "He's probably got loads of potential, but we didn't really see much to make a judgement, and I suspect that it's a case of let's make some space and probably bring other people in.

"So, as long as the decision is because we've got people lined up, then I think that's great, but he hasn't really added anything because he hasn't been able to, so good luck to him."

Zepiqueno Redmond's Huddersfield Town loan will easily be forgotten

With the Dutch forward now back at his parent club, the last few months will be a distant memory already for supporters of the Terriers, as Redmond made very little impact.

A knee injury in late September saw the 19-year-old miss the next three months, and while he has started to return to fitness, he did not do enough to catch the eye of Grant or his coaching staff at Huddersfield.

Huddersfield already have no shortage of forward options and Villa will want him playing somewhere that, fitness permitting, regular game-time can be guaranteed.

Staying fit will be his first task, and if he is able to keep himself out of the treatment room, then there's no reason why Redmond can't vindicate his clear potential elsewhere in the EFL.
