Huddersfield Town have witnessed several key changes in recent weeks as they aim to seal a League One play-off spot.

Liam Manning replaced Lee Grant as Terriers boss last month, and enjoyed three successive wins at the beginning of his managerial tenure.

However, the West Yorkshire outfit then endured a turn for the worse, as League One defeats against Stevenage and Doncaster Rovers followed their EFL Trophy quarter-final exit.

Manning's men got back on track last Saturday, though, thanks to a 2-1 triumph over local rivals Barnsley.

Huddersfield have witnessed changes to their frontline in recent weeks, as well as their managerial switch.

Chelsea recalled Terriers top scorer and attacking midfielder Leo Castledine from his loan spell at the Accu Stadium in January, before selling the 20-year-old to Championship promotion chasers Middlesbrough.

Manning's side also loaned Joe Taylor out to Wigan Athletic, whereas Ryan Hardie joined Huddersfield from Wrexham in a similar deal.

Meanwhile, striker Bojan Radulovic has been sidelined through injury since January, whereas fellow forward Alfie May recently returned from a suspension.

Football League World asked our Terriers fan pundit, Graeme Rayner, if Town are really feeling the absence of Castledine right now, or if they are coping fine.

Rayner told FLW: "I don't think Leo Castledine's the player we're missing at the moment. He contributed a lot in a short spell. He had a real burst late last year, where he got a lot of goals in a short space of time and arguably kept Lee Grant in a job at times.

"But I actually think in the games where we've not quite been at it, it's not him that we're missing. I actually think that the miss is Bojan Radulovic. Who would have thought we'd have said that this time last year? I actually think it's him that we've been missing.

"I don't think Castledine is the one we've been missing. I think Marcus Harness has done a good job when he's pushed up into a sort of 10 role, tucking in behind the striker. I think we've coped okay without him.

"The problems we've had haven't been because he's not been there. Obviously, it would have been nice to have kept him, but I don't think you can pinpoint his absence as being the source of the problems. The dip we've had in form, after Liam Manning's initial games, has coincided with Bojan Radulovic being out, and also Alfie May being suspended.

"I think they were bigger misses. Obviously, Alfie May is now back, so onwards and upwards, and with the guys that we've brought in on loan, Ryan Hardie particularly, looking good on Saturday, I think we'll be okay now. Good luck to him (Castledine) though."

Ryan Hardie and Alfie May can be the remedy to recent Huddersfield Town issues

As reported by Yorkshire Live earlier this month, Radulovic's injury is set to keep the 26-year-old out of action for two months.

The former Brighton man has been a key player for Huddersfield this term, scoring seven goals and producing five assists in 19 League One appearances.

It is no surprise that the Terriers have suffered poor results, including a third-tier defeat against relegation-threatened Doncaster since Radulovic's absence.

Meanwhile, Manning's men should also be envious of the fact that Taylor has been in prolific form for Wigan since joining the Latics on loan from the West Yorkshire side.

However, as alluded to by Rayner, fellow strikers Hardie and May have what it takes to perform at the business end of the season and spearhead Huddersfield to the play-off spots.
