Saturday afternoon will see two of the Pro League’s top scorers in Hugo Cuyper and Ayase Ueda go head to head. Gent face Cercle Brugge in a game that could determine which team will qualify for Europa Conference League qualification by finishing top of the four team group.
Gent currently have the advantage as they sit top with 34 points, while Cercle Brugge are second with 29 points. However, Cercle face Gent back to back, so a six point swing could see the Green and Black overtake the Buffaloes.
In Cuypers and Ueda, both sides have inform strikers. Former Olympiakos striker Cuypers, who joined Gent in the summer from Mechelen, has scored 21 league goals this season. The 26-year-old has also been grabbing assists during the play-offs, grabbing three as he had been setting up fellow strike partner Gift Orban.
Japanese international Ueda also joined his side in the summer from Kashima Antlers, took a few games to get used to Belgian football and culture.
