Hugo Ekitike's REGEN is already at Liverpool and he's special

Joshua Sonni-Lambie at Liverpool's academy is almost a carbon-copy of Ekitike in his style of play. The 17-year-old has the same sort of movements and creativity.

He's not just a goal-scorer, he drops back, he loves to take players on and he creates chances for others.

The youngster has 20-goal contributions already this season in just 24 appearances for the club across all competitions.

His latest goal came at the weekend during Liverpool's 1-0 victory over Newcastle, with Sonni-Lambie netting the much-needed winner, which is what he did against Stoke City the weekend prior, too.

So like Ekitike, he comes up trumps when Liverpool need him the most. But there was more to his performance than just goals.

Against Newcastle and Stoke, Sonni-Lambie was constantly coming back and involving himself in the build-up. He was moving and making defenders confused, while creating space for himself and his teammates.

That link-up play and movement are his best abilities. It's why even though he's a forward, he's often been played as a false nine or as an attacking midfielder just behind the striker.

Having only been picked up by Liverpool at the age of 14, with no previous academy experience, apart from playing at grassroots level in London, there's a bit of freedom in his style of play.

Sonni-Lambie often comes up with creative solutions, similar to Ekitike. He's not afraid to do a heel flick, or attempt something extraordinary.

He's the best kind of entertainer and with 20 goal contributions already this season, he's definitely pushing to get himself a chance at a higher level, potentially even a first-team opportunity given the lack of depth in that position.

A line-up of Sonni-Lambie and Ekitike in the future could be quite special.
