Speaking in an interview with L’Équipe, Los Angeles FC goalkeeper spoke about current unrest which has embroiled the city of L.A just before the opening of the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.The Trump administration has taken over California’s National Guard to restore order and to protect Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents as they swept up people in Los Angeles who were believed to be in the country illegally.“Social tension exists everywhere in the world,” said the former captain of Les Bleus and 2018 World Cup winner. “What is different here is that many of our supporters are Latinos, and they are particularly affected by the US government’s measures. So we are very sensitive to all of this.”Protests have been aimed at opposing Donald Trump’s immigration policy.
