Corinthians released behind-the-scenes footage from the tie with Portuguesa at Estádio do Canindé, showing progress to the Paulista semi-finals as Hugo Souza shone in the shootout and Vitinho hit a late equaliser. According to Meu Timao, the video arrived almost a day after qualification.
It opens with fans and celebration, then switches to the dressing room in the north of São Paulo. After warm-ups, Rodrigo Garro, Dorival Júnior and Gustavo Henrique addressed the squad, with a spotlight on Renan Bloise and midfielder Raniele.
Bloise urged them to treat it as a one-off and to respect Portuguesa by delivering their best. Raniele said they are champions and this was a chance to take another step and defend the crown.
Clips show Vitinho’s equaliser, then a shootout where Hugo saved twice to send Corinthians through. Vitinho said the chance came late and he had to take it. Hugo spoke of calm through faith and work, happy to help if he prefers the forwards to shine.
Afterwards, celebration mixed with demands to raise standards. Memphis led the debrief, praising the substitutes and saluting Hugo, before Hugo and Gustavo Henrique spoke and Vitinho addressed his first club goal. The theme was unity and parked egos.
The result added one point to the expanded table, leaving Corinthians fourth among the semi-finalists and away to Novorizontino on Saturday. Before that, they face Cruzeiro in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A on Wednesday at 20:00 at Mineirão in round four.
