Corinthians will be without goalkeeper Hugo Souza in the Brasileirão after dissent earned him a third yellow card following the 1-0 defeat to Santos at Neo Química Arena.
According to Meu Timao, the booking came after the final whistle on Sunday.
Referee Wilton Pereira Sampaio recorded that the number one strongly protested the officiating, resulting in his third caution of the 2026 league.
He will miss the home game against Chapecoense on Sunday 6 September at 19:30 at Casa do Povo, joining Gabriel Paulista and Raniele on the suspended list.
Head coach Fernando Diniz has a week to decide on a replacement, with 22-year-old Kauê currently the favourite.
Kauê started the 2-1 defeat at Coritiba on 23 August, when Souza was rested following a knee hyperextension, but his display drew criticism from supporters.
Pedro Rocha struck from a tight angle at his near post, then Jadson headed in as the keeper fell back into his own net. Kauê has six senior appearances, five this season.
Felipe Longo, 21, and Matheus Corrêa, 20, are alternative options, the latter a regular for the under-20s who often travels with the first team.
The clássico loss kept Corinthians 10th and still short of the 2027 Libertadores places, and made it three league defeats in a row after 2-1 reverses to Cruzeiro and Coritiba.
