Dean Huijsen joined Real Madrid this summer and is proving to be a defensive lynchpin for Xabi Alonso’s side.

The Spanish defender joined the coach at the press conference held on the eve of the Champions League match against Liverpool.

The player, who was asked about his time in Italy, expressed gratitude towards Roma.

“In Italy, I learned to defend well. I’m very grateful to Juventus and Roma.”

“Letting me go was their decision. I had a great time at both clubs. Mentally, I’m very good now, I’m very happy to be here… I hope to bring a lot of joy to the Real Madrid fans.”
