Dean Hujsen wore the Roma jersey for only a few months.

The defender arrived in the 2024 winter transfer window, just days before José Mourinho was sacked.

The Portuguese coach himself had wanted him to arrive on loan from Juventus. Mourinho saw important qualities in him, which were already partly evident during his time with the Giallorossi.

The two reunited this season at Real Madrid. In an interview with the club’s official channels, the 2005-born defender also spoke about his special relationship with Mourinho, which began in Rome: “I was lucky enough to meet Mourinho at Roma; he gave me the opportunity to break into top-level football. I will always be grateful to Mourinho for this.”

“Being together again now is even more wonderful; I hope it will go well for both of us.”

The paths of Roma, Mourinho, and Hujsen will cross on October 14th in the Champions League match scheduled for the Olimpico.
