Dean Huijsen hit back at Nicolò Barella in Italian during a tense Champions League meeting between Real Madrid and Inter at the Bernabéu, but didn’t mock Lautaro Martinez.

Former Juventus and Roma defender Huijsen argued with Inter players, including Barella and Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez, during the final minutes of a Champions League match at the Santiago Bernabéu, which the La Liga giants won 2-1.

What Huijsen told Barella during Real Madrid vs. Inter

Videos that have quickly gone viral on social media show the Spain international confronting Lautaro and Barella. Huijsen was caught on camera hitting back at the Italy international, telling him to “shut up” in Italian (“Stai zitto”).

The Inter midfielder protested to the referee, but Huijsen harshly insisted that he stop.

Despite reports in some Italian media, Huijsen’s quotes regarding his clash with Lautaro Martinez are fabricated.

Reports said the Spaniard advised Lautaro to “respect Real Madrid,” adding that the Merengues had “never lost a Champions League Final 5-0.” However, Huijsen never made such a statement; the claim appears to have originated from a satire account.
