Hulk to miss Flamengo v Atlético-MG after permission to negotiate

Hulk will miss Flamengo v Atlético-MG on Sunday 26 after being granted permission to negotiate with another Série A club. The 13th-round fixture is at Arena MRV.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the 39-year-old has played 12 league matches this season and taking the field again would make it 13, which would stop him featuring for a different club in the same competition.

Atlético-MG have not revealed the identity of the interested team, only that it is from the Brasileirão’s top tier. Hulk remains under contract with the Minas Gerais side until the end of 2026.

Though currently a substitute, he has four goal involvements in the league, so Flamengo could benefit from his absence. The visitors are set to be at full strength.
