The Tigers have beaten a lot of teams to win the race for Cody Drameh, who has plenty of EFL experience under his belt.

Hull City have won the race to sign Cody Drameh.

That's according to Fabrizio Romano, who has revealed that the Tigers have beaten other sides to secure the signature of the right-back, who recently departed Leeds United on the expiration of his contract.

The Tigers haven't enjoyed the best first half of the transfer window, with the club losing both Jacob Greaves and Jaden Philogene.

Greaves was a commanding defender who could play both centrally and at full-back - and he is likely to be a big miss at the MKM Stadium.

Philogene, meanwhile, has moved back to Aston Villa, just one year after making the move away from Villa Park.

Ryan Giles may have joined permanently, which is a boost for the Tigers who should benefit from his contributions, but there's plenty of work to be done to replace key players who have left.

Ozan Tufan is another player who probably needs to be replaced, along with those who have left the East Yorkshire side following the end of their loan spells.

Liam Delap will be a massive miss, with the new Ipswich Town signing proving to be a real asset when on the pitch for Hull.

Hull City set to win Cody Drameh race

Transfer expert Romano has reported that Hull have beaten other Championship sides to get a deal for Drameh over the line.

Sides from other European countries were also thought to be interested in the player, who was in discussions regarding a new deal at Elland Road but failed to come to an agreement with the Whites.

Drameh could have become an important player for Leeds during the early stages of the upcoming campaign, with fellow right-backs Luke Ayling, Archie Gray and Rasmus Kristensen all leaving in recent weeks.

But he has opted against renewing his contract and looks set for a switch to the Tigers, who could benefit from having him at their disposal.

The player spent last season on loan at Birmingham City - and although he couldn't prevent their relegation to League One - he was praised by Blues supporters at times for his performances.

He deserves to remain in the second tier - and he will be hoping to be a big success at the MKM Stadium. The right-back is set to undergo a medical today.

Hull City could benefit from Cody Drameh's presence

The Tigers released Cyrus Christie this summer.

With this in mind, Drameh would be a great addition.

The ex-Leeds man has plenty of EFL experience under his belt and can contribute in both the defensive and attacking thirds, which makes him an excellent replacement for Christie.

He's also still young and with the player set to be a very cheap addition, the Tigers should be able to sell him on for a healthy profit in the future.

This is a low-risk signing that could produce big rewards for Hull, who will be delighted that they have won this race.
