Moments later, a penalty was given to Hull. Arthur Okonkwo saved Gelhardt's spot kick (44.).

After the restart, Lewis Koumas glanced in a header from a Liam Millar cross following a corner (63.). Wrexham's response came after Issa Kabore's introduction, the substitute crossing for Nathan Broadhead to finish from the centre of the box (76.).

Wrexham pressed late, with Nathan Broadhead and Jay Rodriguez both missing presentable chances in the closing stages.

Wrexham had 62.8% possession and eight corners but registered only two shots on target. Hull posted 12 attempts with five on target.

Next, Wrexham host Swansea City. Hull visit West Bromwich Albion.
