Five Huracán supporters have been handed the maximum right of admission sanction, a four-year ban from all sporting events, after pre-match incidents against San Lorenzo. The City Security Ministry said in a statement that a section of the Palacio Tomás A. Ducó has also been provisionally closed until the club files a security plan.
Trouble flared before kick-off as San Lorenzo’s players left the pitch to receive final instructions from Damián Ayude. With no protective tunnel, home supporters in the platea came within centimetres of the visiting squad.
José Devecchi was spat at as the team headed for the away dressing room. Insults escalated and one fan swung a punch towards Diego Herazo that did not connect, further inflaming a traditionally heated derby.
Three suspects were identified during and shortly after the match, with two more confirmed on Tuesday morning. Investigators used City Police monitoring footage to pick out those involved.
The accused are alleged to have breached articles 119 and 120 of the City’s Contraventional Code, relating to incitement to disorder. The right of admission will bar them from attending sporting events.
