Hwang on Porto midfield list, no formal talks yet | OneFootball

Porto have Hwang In-beom on their midfield list, but no formal talks are under way. According to O Jogo, the club have only sounded out the Feyenoord player’s representative to gauge his situation.

The 29-year-old is under contract with Feyenoord until 2028 and is valued at seven million euros, the fee paid to Red Star when he joined. He also has other suitors, with Monterrey among the interested clubs.

Head coach Francesco Farioli knows the South Korea international from his time at Ajax. Hwang’s versatility appeals, as he can play as an attacking midfielder or in a deeper role.

Last season he made 24 appearances, scoring one goal and providing four assists, though injuries had an impact. In October 2024 he played at Luz in the Champions League and scored against Porto’s biggest rivals.

More recently he started all three group matches at the 2026 World Cup, scoring and assisting in a 2-1 win over Czechia.

Porto continue to work on midfield reinforcements with several targets identified. Hwang is one option, but a return for Fofana has not been ruled out after his encouraging second half of last season.
