His arrival at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport on the evening of Wednesday, July 30 sparked wild scenes as thousands of supporters turned out to greet him. Despite several tempting offers, Victor Osimhen has chosen to return to Galatasaray SK on a permanent transfer from Napoli—and he couldn’t be happier.
Victor Osimhen expressed his delight at being back in Turkey as soon as he stepped off the plane. Facing a jubilant crowd of journalists and fans, the former Napoli striker shared his first impressions—emotions running high.
“I don’t know how to describe my feelings. I’m so excited to arrive at a place I love. I am home and I am very happy. I’m glad to be back here. I was offered a lot of money, but my love for Galatasaray is greater,” said Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian international made a point of thanking the club’s management for making this transfer possible. He specifically praised the president, the vice-president, sporting director George Gardi, as well as coach Okan Buruk.
“I thank the fans who wanted me. I’m happy to continue with Galatasaray. My story goes on,” the emotional striker declared.
Negotiations between Galatasaray and Napoli concluded with a total agreement of €75 million, including €5 million in bonuses based on performance targets. The Turkish club will pay €40 million this summer, followed by an additional €35 million by 2026. Napoli has included a special clause prohibiting Galatasaray from selling Osimhen to an Italian club before 2027, under penalty of a financial fine.
