In emotional address at the Global Tourism Forum in Riyadh, Cristiano Ronaldo reaffirmed his deep connection with Saudi Arabia describing the Kingdom as his second home and his experience there as "a unique & inspiring chapter" in his legendary career.

"As I always tell Saudis... I am one of you. I am Saudi man" Ronaldo declared to thunderous applause.

Since his arrival in January 2023, the Al Nassr captain has not only redefined what it means to be a global footballer in Saudi Arabia but has also become a key symbol of the Kingdom’s sporting & cultural evolution.

Why Ronaldo Calls Himself "Saudi"

Ronaldo’s bond with Saudi Arabia runs deeper than football. Since signing with Al Nassr after leaving Manchester United, he and his family have embraced local culture with remarkable ease.

His partner Georgina Rodriguez and their children have fully integrated into life in Riyadh with Cristiano Jr even joining Al Nassr’s youth academy — an experience that helped him earn call up to Portugal’s U16 national team.

Ronaldo’s respect for Saudi customs has also captured hearts from his participation in national celebrations to performing traditional dances after scoring including the now-iconic "Agal celebration" following his decisive goal against Al Fayha Club.

Ronaldo’s move to the Saudi Pro League in early 2023 was watershed moment that triggered an influx of world class talent — from Karim Benzema & Riyad Mahrez to Marcelo Brozovic & Sadio Mane.

"Football here is growing very fast. The level is improving every season and I’m proud to be part of this journey" he said at the Riyadh forum.

Retirement Talks: "Maybe Soon... or Maybe in 10 Years!"

At 40 Ronaldo shows no signs of slowing down. Yet, speaking during video call at global investment summit, the five time Ballon d’Or winner hinted that the end of his playing days could be approaching.

"When I say "soon" maybe I mean in 10 year" he joked before adding with smile, “Of course I’m kidding... but at this stage, you start counting months, not years”
