Pat Nevin has slammed Benoit Badiashile and claimed the defender looked out of his “comfort zone” against Charlton on Saturday evening.
Liam Rosenior’s first game in charge couldn’t have gone much better as the Blues advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup thanks to a 5-1 win at The Valley.
Chelsea had five different goal scores on the night, but the best goal was without doubt a brilliant strike from Jorrel Hato.
Rosenior heavily rotated the side after the defeat to Fulham, and certainly made more changes than many would have expected.
Badiashile was one of those to benefit as he was handed a start along Tosin Adarabioyo in the heart of the defence.

The Blues only conceded one goal, and weren’t put under too much pressure by Charlton, but Nevin believes Badiashile was out of his comfort zone against the Championship outfit.
“You can tell that Benoit Badiashile is a bit nervous and he is giving the ball away often,” he told the BBC’s coverage.
“I do feel sorry for a player who is playing so far out of his comfort zone.”
Badiashile did pick up an early booking, but grew into the game as it went on, and it will be interesting to see where Rosenior feels the Frenchman is in the centre back pecking order.
Whilst Chelsea aren’t expected to do anything in January, one area the Blues do need to address is centre back.
