“I feel good” Arteta raring to go in the new season

Mikel Arteta says he feels good and is ready for another tough season as Arsenal prepare to defend the Premier League title, with the campaign now getting underway.

They will face Coventry City in their season opener as they look to put themselves in the best possible position to win matches and do so as often as they can in their bid to become champions again.

The Gunners have performed well in recent weeks, and their fans are confident that the team is ready to go and can meet expectations this campaign. Arsenal have also added new players to their squad, but one person who is not new to the team is Arteta.

The manager is reportedly in line to sign a new contract at the Emirates. After many years of consistency, he finally won the league title a few months ago, but questions remain over whether he has become tired after the demands of the job.

Arteta remains hungry for success

The former midfielder does not appear to be tired, and he made it clear that he remains motivated and eager to begin another Premier League campaign. He also stressed his desire to start strongly in front of Arsenal’s supporters.

He said via Arsenal Media:

“I feel good, different, hopefully better. More excited than ever. Hungrier than ever. I can’t wait to start the Premier League at home in front of our supporters, have a great performance and win the match.

“I have no question that our players have that desire and that ambition to do that [retain our title]. Now it’s something that we have to earn and do daily.”

Arsenal ready to defend title

Arteta’s comments demonstrate that he remains fully focused on the challenge ahead. Winning the Premier League title has given Arsenal confidence, but the manager understands that retaining it will require the same level of commitment every day.

The Gunners will therefore begin the new campaign with clear ambitions, knowing that every match will matter in their attempt to remain champions. Arteta believes his players have the desire to achieve that objective, and he is clearly eager to lead them through another demanding season.

With the manager still motivated and the squad looking confident, Arsenal will hope to begin their title defence with a strong performance against Coventry City.
