‘I hope my decision will be made very soon’ – Ibrahima Konaté offers Liverpool contract update | OneFootball

Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konaté (26) has opened up regarding his contractual situation with the Premier League champions. The France international has entered the final months of the five-year contract that he signed back in 2021 with Liverpool. L’Equipe previously reported that the Reds were confident in their ability to convince Konaté to extend his stay on Merseyside.

Speaking during France’s pre-game press conference in Baku, as Les Bleus face Azerbaijan on Sunday for a dead rubber in the European qualifiers, Konaté revealed that he hoped his contractual stand-off won’t drag on much longer. “My agents continue to discuss with Liverpool. I hope my decision will be made very soon so I can announce it“, the centre-back said.

Konaté, who is expected to feature against Azerbaijan, also rubished claims that Liverpool have recently made him a new contractual offer. “I don’t know where that’s coming from.“
