I predicted that Manchester United and Spurs would both lose on Friday night.
Both losing their games against our fellow aspiring Champions League sides, Chelsea and Aston Villa.
I knew that Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur wouldn’t be out to do Newcastle United any favours,
Man Utd actually played a little better than expected at Stamford Bridge but that isn’t saying much, whilst Spurs are suffering an injury crisis.
The bottom line is that they are both very poor teams with second rate managers.
To think, one of these banter clubs will be playing Champions League football…
Courtesy of fluking the Europa League this season, making me grin and shake my head.
Nothing has really changed for Newcastle United from the situation that existed before the aforementioned two Friday night kick-offs.
Everything was, and still is, in our own hands.
Three more points from our last two games of the season will be suffice to see us qualify for next season’s Champions League.
I really feel that this may be accomplished against Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.
We then have Everton on the last day of the season in what will be an undoubtedly raucous atmosphere at St James’ Park.
We are in pole position and right on track to make 2024/25 one of the best seasons ever in Newcastle United’s 133 year history.
