“I learn from him” – Antonio Nusa opens up on “special connection” with Man City star Haaland | OneFootball

Playing alongside the likes of Erling Haaland and Martin Ødegaard, Antonio Nusa is part of a Norwegian national team that made a strong impression at the World Cup before ultimately being knocked out by England in the quarter-finals.

In an interview with Sport Bild, Nusa opened up about his relationship with Haaland and the impact the Manchester City star has had on his development.

“I have a good connection with him on the pitch – and that makes it easy to play together. That’s why I provide him with so many assists,” Nusa said. 

“As a person, I learn from him by seeing how he lives and thinks. It’s great to be able to see that up close and incorporate it into my own life.”

Overall, Nusa is happy to be part of the positive development of Norwegian football, which he believes has yet to reach its peak.

“We’re going through a good period for Norwegian football right now – and I believe it’s going to get even better,” he said.

“I’m trying to play my part in Norwegian football. People see that I’m different from Haaland or Ødegaard – and that seems to inspire them too. It’s a dream to have people supporting you and wanting to be like you.”

Nusa has nine goals and nine assists in 30 appearances for Norway, who face Denmark in their 2026/27 UEFA Nations League opener on Thursday.
