‘I like his attitude’ – Niko Kovac on ‘mature’ Jobe Bellingham | OneFootball

Jobe Bellingham (19) has started in each of Borussia Dortmund’s games in the Bundesliga this season. Speaking ahead of Saturday’s game against Heidenheim, Niko Kovac discussed the Englishman’s mentality and his best position.

“I like his attitude to his job,” said Kovac. “I like the passion he shows.

“As a 19-year-old, that’s not something to be taken for granted. He’s certainly very mature for his age. He knows where he comes from, he knows where he is, and he also knows where he wants to go. You see that every day in our work with him.

“I think his strengths lie more in the deeper position, as a clear six. Whether that’s the left or right is completely irrelevant. He needs the game in front of him. We saw that in the last game too, compared to the other two games.

“He’s a boy who will obviously continue to improve. That’s quite clear. You can’t expect that at 19, but we’re very happy with him and he knows where he is and what he has to do to make a good start here and help the team.”
