Liam Rosenior is looking to make it three league wins in a row, whilst West Ham have turned a corner recently and have won their last two games.

Paul Merson makes Chelsea vs West Ham prediction

Chelsea beat Napoli 3-2 in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and will be looking to build on Rosenior’s positive start.

The 41-year-old has won five of his first six games in charge, and faces a favourable run with West Ham, Wolves and Leeds Chelsea’s next three league games.

Rosenior has confirmed Cole Palmer is ready to start in what is a must win game, and Merson has given his prediction.

“Many people forget that this is a massive local derby,” he told Sportskeeda.

“Chelsea are fighting to finish in the top four and West Ham are trying to avoid relegation. I like these type of games where everything is on the line.

“Joao Pedro is enjoying a good run in front of goal for Chelsea.

“He scored two good goals against Napoli in midweek and looks composed. But no one is going to be the top man at Chelsea ahead of Moises Caicedo!

“If you asked me to name a Chelsea player who shouldn’t miss the game against West Ham, it will be Caicedo for sure.

“West Ham have a free swing here. I don’t expect them to beat Chelsea, but they can definitely make this an entertaining watch.

“Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 West Ham United.”

The Blues want to recall Mamdou Sarr

In news away from the pitch, the club reportedly want to recall Mamdou Sarr from Strasbourg and send Aaron Anselmino to the Ligue 1 outfit.

The Blues are looking for a new centre back and are negotiating for Jeremy Jacquet, but as of yet no offer has been made.

Rosenior knows Sarr well having worked with him at Strasbourg for 18 months, but Anselmino isn’t believed to be keen on the switch, and it’ll be interesting to see what happens.
