Newcastle United kicking off again after making it consecutive Champions League victories.

Eddie Howe’s side now facing Fulham at St James’ Park in a 3pm kick-off.

The Newcastle United players knowing how massive this will be if they can make it four wins in five games (in all competitions) and start climbing the Premier League.

Eddie Howe and Newcastle United now ten weeks into the new season.

Chris Sutton talking to BBC Sport – 24 October 2025:

“I nearly always back Newcastle to win at home, even after they’ve just played in the Champions League, and I feel pretty confident about their chances here too.

“Eddie Howe’s side played well against Benfica in midweek and while I think Fulham are a well-organised team who are capable of going to St James’ Park and winning – like they did last season – they are not in great form at the moment.”

“Prediction: Newcastle 3 Fulham 1”

Is the BBC Sport pundit on the money this time?

Well, I can’t really disagree with anything he’s had to say this time and here’s hoping his match result prediction is spot on.

Fulham have lost their last three Premier League matches and conceded seven goals in them, whilst Newcastle have scored in all of their last six matches (all competitions) and scored 15 goals in total in them.

Nick Pope picked up his latest clean sheet on Tuesday night, making it seven in eleven games this season, including five clean sheets in eight in the Premier League.

Eddie Howe and his team have a four day gap this time between midweek in the Champions League and Premier League on Saturday, so that is a bonus.

A lot of factors point to a Newcastle win against Fulham but as ever, no Premier League match is a certainty, so United simply have to go out and show the same intensity that overwhelmed Benfica on Tuesday night. If doing so, then Newcastle United should pick up the three points.
