Liam Rosenior often gives long, detailed, interesting answers, especially when he’s emotional, and today was a great example of that.
Clearly rocked by a very painful ending to the game against PSG which his side ended up losing, Rosenior was clear on who he blamed.
“Yes, a very disappointing result. In an evening, where for much of the game, I was really, really happy with our performance,” the Chelsea boss said.
“The last 15, 20 minutes were crazy in many aspects. That’s on me. I need to be better in moments, setbacks, mistakes happen.
“But you have to stay calm in the moment, me included. And we didn’t, and we were punished by a very good team, which makes the scoreline a painful one because for 75 minutes, we were in the tie and the game itself.”
He’s not wrong on the fact that Chelsea were in this game, but he’s also not wrong that he needed to be better. The whole Filip Jorgensen fiasco has been unnecessary, and his subs tonight were also not what was needed.
You can hear in his voice he feels the pain.
Pedro Neto was forced to apologise after getting into some hassle with a ballboy. An embarrassing incident all round,
Another notable post match video was a clip of Enzo Fernandez bawling at Filip Jorgensen after his silly error.
Chelsea’s second goal was a superb counter from Pedro Neto, who burst forward then stayed alert to pick out Enzo Fernandez’s run.
