Olympique de Marseille’s loss to Reims yesterday (1-3) has cast a big degree of doubt over Les Olympiens’ objective of qualifying for the Champions League by the end of the season. A second-half collapse saw OM lose against a Reims side that hadn’t achieved the feat of scoring a single goal in six games, and midfielder Adrien Rabiot was not best pleased with the performance of some of his teammates. “It hurts to show this state of mind. We have objectives and that’s not enough. I feel like I’m watching guys who don’t want to go to the Champions League, who don’t want to fight to experience that,” he told beIN Sports following the match at Stade Auguste Delaune.“The Champions League is a big deal. There are players here who have never played in it, who may never play in it. I don’t understand why we’re not more hungry on the pitch at the idea of playing in this competition next year. We need to have a different mentality. There are teams behind us who are keen.”“That’s why I came [to play for Champions League football]. If others don’t want to, they should say so before the matches and let others play.”Les Phocéens dropped down to third in the Ligue 1 table yesterday evening following AS Monaco’s Côte d’Azur Derby win (2-1) over OGC Nice – who are now only two points behind Marseille in fourth place with seven games to go until the end of the season.GFFN | George Boxall
