Burnley boss Scott Parker has hailed Enzo Maresca as an “outstanding” coach, and believes Chelsea are a team full of top class players.

The Blue travel to Turf Moor on Saturday lunchtime looking to make it three Premier League wins in a row, in what is the first of three huge games in eight days.

Chelsea head into the match in third, six points behind leaders Arsenal, whilst Burnley are outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

Scott Parker praises Enzo Maresca

Given the Blues play Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night it will be interesting to see what team Maresca puts out.

Maresca has been boosted by the return of Pedro Neto to training this week, after he pulled out of the Portugal squad with a groin issue.

Benoit Badiashile is also back in training having not featured since the win against Liverpool, and the Frenchman provides another option at centre back.

This is the type of game the Blues have struggled with in the past, but Paul Merson has backed Chelsea to get three points.

Burnley have former Blues Armando Broja and Lesley Ugochukwu in their ranks, but Parker is all to aware of the task facing his side as he praised Maresca.

“Top team,” he told his pre-match press conference.

“I see them as a top team that have got world-class football players and an outstanding coach.

“It’s a tough game for us this weekend, which we understand, but yeah, I see them as being in and around it this year for sure.

“A very, very good team that structure their team in the way they play with huge quality that can make a difference.”

Burnley looking for a positive result

Despite the gap in quality, Parker insisted Burnley will be heading into the game looking to pick up a positive result.

“But whether it was Chelsea or whoever it will be, we’re going to get a result out of it, and it will be a massive lift (to win), of course it will,” he added.

“That’s the aim this weekend as well.”
