"I still have to wait and see" – Doué to miss Leverkusen's clash with Mainz | OneFootball

Guéla Doué has revealed that his comeback is nearing, but he won't be available for Bayer Leverkusen after the international break.  

"In a few weeks, I'll be able to play again," said Doué in an interview with BILD, having suffered a calf injury during team training.

However, when asked by the tabloid if he will be fit in time to face Mainz on Saturday, 10 October, the full-back's answer was clear:

“No [I won't be available for the Mainz game], unfortunately, I still have to wait and see,” the Côte d'Ivoire star explained.

Nonetheless, the summer signing is already anticipating getting back on the BayArena pitch having sampled the atmosphere.

“At the last games, I was at the stadium and heard the fans; the atmosphere was really good. I can't wait to play here.

“I've also already seen some fans with my jersey, and I'm very grateful for that,” the 23-year-old concluded.
