Nancy’s managerial debut for the Hoops ended in a sore loss as the visitors claimed all three points, with goals from Claudio Braga and Oisin McEntee cancelling out Kieran Tierney’s late consolation for Celtic.
The Frenchman drew attention during the match after being seen delivering instructions via a tactical board to skipper Callum McGregor and Tierney, a moment that sparked debate across social media and among pundits.
Speaking in the build-up to Thursday’s Europa League fixture with Roma, Trusty responded to the debate. “I think it just comes with the territory,” the defender said at the pre-match mainstream media conference at Celtic Park, with Celtic’s ban on fan media participation continuing.

“This is a really big club, and a lot of people care deeply about this club and the results that we have. So anytime you lose, they’re going to find a reason. And if you win, sometimes things get brushed over,” Trusty said.
“So yeah, I think it comes with the territory of being at this club, and being at a club of this stature.”
Trusty added: “I think anytime there’s a change, regardless of any organisation, any situation, it takes time for guys to settle in and wrap their heads around what’s happened.”

“So yeah, three managers in this year so far, of course, there’s going to be a little bit of unsettlement between the players and between anybody in the organisation but again, that’s just the nature of football, unfortunately, in this sport, and in any profession where people really, really care about it. It is just about being adaptable and getting behind your people,” the Celtic defender added.
“I think it would bring everybody on board [a win tonight against Roma],” Trusty continued. “I think the fact that we lost our previous game, people can start to say stuff, but again, if you win a game, then people don’t say anything.”

“So again, it’s just the nature of the beast, and it’s the nature of how big this club is. When you get people on your side, they’re really on your side.”
