Liam Rosenior has praised Chelsea for their build up play as he mentioned the partnership of Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer.

Chelsea’s four match winning streak in the league came to an end as they were held to a 2-2 draw against Leeds on Tuesday evening.

Pedro gave Chelsea the lead with a brilliant finish, whilst Palmer doubled the lead from the penalty spot, his fourth goal in the last two games.

Liam Rosenior on Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro partnership

Pedro has been in brilliant form under Rosenior, and his goal against Leeds was his tenth in the league, matching his tally at Brighton last season.

Palmer brilliantly set up Pedro, whilst the Brazil international also won the penalty which Palmer converted, and there are signs of a partnership forming.

We saw the duo link up to great effect at the Club World Cup, but given Palmer’s injury issues we’ve not seen it much in the league, and Rosenior shared his thoughts after the game.

“Yeah, well, it wasn’t just those two,” he told his post match press conference.

“Enzo [Fernandez], Estevao [Willian], Andrey [Santos] and Moi [Caicedo] in midfield. Malo Gusto’s runs from the back line. Pedro Neto is combining with Malo in the second half and Moi.

“I want them all to connect and combine. That’s the way that we, that’s the way I want to play. First half, some of the moments were really enjoyable to watch.”

The game will see Rosenior return to one of his former clubs, with The Tigers currently sat fourth in the Championship, and right in the race for promotion.

It will be a tough test for the Blues, but if they cut the mistakes out, and play anywhere near the level of football seen against Leeds they should get the win.
