Mamadou Sarr has confirmed he plans to play for Chelsea next season once he returns from his loan spell at Strasbourg.
Chelsea signed Sarr from the Ligue 1 side in a deal worth £12m in June, and he made his debut at the Club World Cup against ES Tunis.
Sarr was sent back on loan to Strasbourg this season to continue his development with a view to being part of the Chelsea set-up next season.
Sarr has played a key role for Strasbourg so far this campaign and has become an important part of the squad, with the team sitting eighth in Ligue 1.
The Blues clearly see potential in Sarr, with Strasbourg hoping to have success in the Conference League, and once again qualify for European football.

However, despite insisting his full focus is on Strasbourg currently, Sarr stated he very much plans to play for Chelsea next season.
“Absolutely (I want to play for Chelsea next season),” he told Canal+ as quoted by The Standard.
“I want to make a good season with Strasbourg, then join the Chelsea group in June.
“Strasbourg is a good place to progress because there are only young players.
“The environment is made only for us, I think it is the best place to develop.”
Chelsea have got some big decisions to make at centre back next summer, and it looks like that part of the squad needs a revamp.

Other than Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana, it genuinely feels like everyone else in that position could be available if the right offer comes in.
The likes of Tosin and Benoit Badiashile have struggled, and there could be a real opportunity for Sarr and fellow youngster Aaron Anselmino to be part of the squad next season.
