Mohamed Salah has revealed the secret to his success at Liverpool, as he prepares to leave the club this summer.

Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the season after nine decorated campaigns with the club. The Egyptian has scored 257 goals in all competitions for the Reds, a record bettered only by Ian Rush (346) and Roger Hunt (285).

The 33-year-old has had an instrumental role in Liverpool's modern success. His goals have contributed towards eight trophies, including twoPremier League titles and the Champions League.

Among the numerous records that Salah has set include becoming the fourth-highest goalscorer in Premier League history, and a three-time PFA Player of the Year. He is the highest-scoring overseas player ever in English football and has won a joint-record four Premier League Golden Boots.

Salah will wave farewell to Liverpool in the summer and has reflected on his time on Merseyside. In an interview with former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, forTNT Sports, Salah said a burning desire to be remembered was the 'secret' that has fuelled his success with the club.

“I would say the desire. I really want to succeed. I really want to be remembered in this club," he said this week.

"After the first year, I would say I want people to remember me as if I’m one of the best. And somehow it got into my head I want people to remember me more than you [Gerrard], more than Kenny [Dalglish]. I’m not trying to be rude! They will not. But it doesn’t matter.

“For me, something drove me crazy and drove me to work hard, to be the first one in, to go to the gym, to do everything right, because I want people always to praise me through my work.

“It’s just the desire, I would say.”
