The Belgian is preparing for Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley, with the Blues looking to salvage something from another disappointing season.
Chelsea are languishing in ninth in the league, and winning the FA Cup is looking like their only route into European football next season.
Lavia is coming to the end of his third season at Chelsea, having joined the Blues from Southampton in the summer of 2023, in a deal reportedly worth up to £58m.
Things haven’t gone to plan for the 22-year-old and he’s been plagued by injuries during his time at the club, which have limited him to just 43 appearances, whilst he’s yet to complete a full 90 minutes.
Having arrived in 2023, Lavia been there for the majority of the BlueCo era, with Chelsea’s ownership coming in for heavy criticism.
Fans are protesting against the owners, and all trust seems to be lost, but Lavia insists he still believes in the project.
“Yes, of course, the day I lose belief, I will probably be the first one to leave this place,” he told The Standard.
“When you’re in the building, never at any point do you see a loss of belief. On a personal note, I 100 per cent believe we will turn it around and get back to the Chelsea everyone knows.”

James hasn’t started a game since March, but played his first minutes since then as a second half substitute against Liverpool last weekend.
Depending on what formation Chelsea deploy, James could line up as a right back or once again find himself in midfield.
