Former England and Newcastle striker Alan Shearer is doubling down on his Chelsea opinion despite great form recently.
Chelsea have been playing well and have been getting some very good results of late. I think we would have beaten Arsenal yesterday as well if we kept 11 players on the pitch.
They didn’t just go toe-to-toe against the current Premier League leaders, they looked better than them for chunks of the game.
Chelsea even scored first in the game when Trevoh Chalobah got on the end of a set piece to head home and have the whole home fans section believing that they could even go on to beat this Arsenal side even with one less player.
But unfortunately, Moises Caicedo saw himself get a straight red for a very silly tackle in the 38th minute of the game, leaving his teams having to play a chunk of it with a man short.
Even after some good form of late, Shearer still doesn’t put Chelsea as title contenders for the Premier League this season.

In words picked up by SPTC today, Shearer said:
“I thought it was a fair result. I didn’t think Arsenal did enough to win the game against 10 men, but I also think Chelsea did really, really well in terms of making it difficult and stopping a very good Arsenal team who have been the most consistent by a mile out of everyone.
“I won’t change my mind yet. I think Chelsea will finish in the top four. I don’t see them having quite enough [to win the title].
“But hey, I didn’t fancy them to win the Club World Cup when they won it, so that shows you what pundits think. But I think anyone going in against Chelsea will know they’re going to have to play really, really well against them.”
