Parents' Warning Forces Ghanaian Star to Change His Signature Move
"I won't do it again": Kamaldeen Sulemana makes big promise after parents' stern warning
Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has announced that he'll no longer perform his trademark backflip celebration revealing that repeated warnings from his parents finally convinced him to stop.
The Atalanta star produced the acrobatic celebration after scoring against Juventus but says that moment of adrenaline was the last time fans will see it.
"My backflip celebration? My parents told me not to do it because it’s dangerous. But against Juventus, it was adrenaline rush: I didn’t think about it, it came spontaneously. I won’t do it again. I’ll find another celebration" he told reporters.
Sulemana’s famous celebration was made possible by his background in gymnastics , a skill he honed during his time at Ghana’s Right to Dream Academy , a pioneering institution that focuses on both football and personal development.
"I learned it at the Right to Dream Academy, where, in addition to football, I also did gymnastics" he said.
Sulemana who has scored twice in 6 Serie A appearance so far this season, is now focusing on securing more playing time and helping Atalanta achieve their season targets.
"My goal's to get a lot of minutes, to give everything so we can qualify for Europe. I’m convinced this season we can do good things" he noted.
